MindWave Mobile Tutorial (Android)
Package: com.neurosky.mwmtutorial
No data collected · No network access · On-device only

Effective date: June 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the MindWave Mobile Tutorial application (the “App”) handles information. The App is published by NeuroSky, Inc. (“NeuroSky,” “we,” “us”). This policy applies only to this App and not to the NeuroSky website or any other NeuroSky product.

Summary

The App does not collect, transmit, store remotely, share, or sell any personal or device data. It has no network access. All processing happens locally on your device and nothing leaves it.

Information the App processes

To provide its core function — a real-time tutorial for the MindWave Mobile 2 EEG headset — the App reads the following on your device only:

No data leaves your device

Sensitive data note

Brainwave (EEG) data may be considered sensitive or health-adjacent. Even though this data never leaves your device, we treat it with care: it is read from the headset, shown to you in real time, and is not collected, retained remotely, or shared.

Permissions

The App requests Bluetooth permissions (and, on Android 11 and below, the location permission that the operating system requires in order to perform a Bluetooth scan) only to find and connect to the MindWave Mobile 2 headset. On Android 12 and above, scanning uses the neverForLocation flag, meaning scan results are not used to derive your physical location. The App does not use location for geolocation and does not track your location.

Children

The App is a hardware tutorial intended for general audiences and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised effective date.
